Tape-In Extensions

Wear time: 6–8 weeks between moves. Hair reuse: The same set of tape-in hair can typically be reapplied 2–3 times, giving you 4–6 months of total use. Maintenance involves removing the old tape, cleaning the bonds, and reattaching with fresh adhesive.

Hand-Tied (Sewn-In) Extensions

Wear time: 6–8 weeks between maintenance. Hair reuse: High-quality hand-tied wefts can last 6–12 months with proper care. Maintenance appointments involve moving the beaded rows up as your natural hair grows out.

Fusion (Bonded) Extensions

Wear time: 3–4 months before removal is needed. Hair reuse: Fusion bonds are single-use, so new bonds are applied at each installation. The hair itself can sometimes be reused if it remains in good condition.

What Affects Extension Longevity

Home care: Using sulfate-free shampoo, brushing gently with a loop brush, avoiding excessive heat, and sleeping with hair in a loose braid all extend the life of your extensions.

Maintenance appointments: Keeping your scheduled maintenance appointments (every 4–6 weeks for most methods) prevents matting, tangling, and damage to your natural hair. Delaying maintenance beyond 7 weeks incurs an additional $45 fee because the removal process becomes more difficult.
